...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Grand Marais to Taconite Harbor MN...
  Grand Portage to Grand Marais MN...
  Lake Superior west of a line from Saxon Harbor WI to Grand Portage
  MN beyond 5NM...

At 745 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This
thunderstorm was located 8 nm west of Grand Marais Harbor, or 25 nm
west of Horseshoe Bay And Safe Harbor, moving southeast at 50 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
