...AN AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE NEARSHORE WATERS OF WESTERN LAKE
SUPERIOR...

  Outer Apostle Islands Beyond 5 NM from Mainland...
  Port Wing to Sand Island WI...
  Sand Island to Bayfield WI...

At 205 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of thunderstorms,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and frequent cloud to
water lightning. This area of thunderstorms was located along a line
extending from near Raspberry Island to near Herbster to 14 nm south
of Port Wing Harbor. The area of thunderstorms were nearly
stationary.

Ironwood Island, Basswood Island, Sand Island, Stockton Island,
Devils Island, Cat Island, Manitou Island, North Twin Island,
Herbster, Meyers Beach, York Island, Eagle Island, Apostle Islands
National Lake Shore, La Pointe, Rocky Island, Raspberry Island, Oak
Island, Siskwit Bay, Apostle Island Sea Caves, and South Twin Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds up to 33 knots, locally higher waves,
lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until these storms pass.
