.DISCUSSION...

Clear skies today. A drier, deeper mixed airmass should push
relative humidity down to around 43 percent early this afternoon
before slowly increasing as the remainder of the afternoon
progresses. Mixing heights start out around 1700 feet and
increase through the morning, reaching 4800 feet in the late
morning into early afternoon before starting to decrease in the
mid to late afternoon as light northerly winds veer to southerly
and bring in cooler temperatures off of Lake Superior. Smoke
dispersal increases to fair for the late morning and afternoon, as
well. Temperatures will warm into the mid-50s by early afternoon
and fall to the low 50s around 1700 CDT. Wind gusts should remain
at or below 10 mph until late this afternoon as slightly stronger
wind gusts (10-12 mph) push in with the southerly winds off Lake
Superior.
