.DISCUSSION...

The main concern from about noon to 2 PM will be dense fog in the
harbor and over the nearshore waters of Lake Superior.
Visibilities may jump up and down a bit, but visibility less than
one mile is expected for the most part. Winds will be northeast
around 10 kt and gusting up to 20 kt. A round of thunderstorms is
expected to pass through this afternoon around 2-3 PM. The storms
may be strong to severe with large hail and strong winds. Expect
some changes in visibility when these roll through, with the dense
fog possibly lessening but visibility still remaining low due to
the heavy rain. Expect gusty and erratic winds with these storms,
and wind direction will likely switch at least briefly to more of
a southwesterly direction. Winds may become onshore again from the
northeast with additional lingering storms possible until around 7
PM or 8 PM. Then, winds are expected to switch more permanently to
southwesterly. This will help to clear out any lingering fog that
may persist through the afternoon.
