.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 206 AM CST Sun Nov 2 2025
As today`s clipper approaches the Northland, pressure gradients
will tighten and winds will increase out of the southwest.
Models continue to increase maximum wind gusts, and are
indicating that gusts may exceed 40 mph, so Wind Advisories have
been issued across most of northeast Minnesota and along the
South Shore counties in northwest Wisconsin. Southwesterly flow
will lead to warmer temperatures today as well, with highs
hovering around 50 today. Some drizzle to light rain showers
are possible throughout the day, but they will be battling some
low level dry air. Showers currently moving into northwest
Minnesota seem to be spotty in whether they are reaching the
ground. A lot of the precipitation will fall as virga and little
to no accumulations are expected from this clipper.
After the clipper passes, we remain under warmer temperatures
aloft than the previous few days, and we will continue to have
above normal temperatures with highs 45-55 through the mid
week. In addition, a couple more shortwaves will move through in
the mid and late week. Global models disagree on whether the
mid week shortwave will produce precipitation that will reach
the ground, whereas the second seems to be stronger, and models
have better agreement of some accumulations.

.AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 535 AM CST Sun Nov 2 2025
VFR conditions are expected for the TAF period. Winds will
increase this morning from the northwest to southeast, with
LLWS for a few hours ahead of the increasing surface winds
especially at INL and HIB. Southwest gusts up to 35 kts are
expected at all terminals during the day, reducing to up to 25
kts overnight as winds shift to the west with a cold front
passage.

.MARINE /FOR NEAR SHORE WATERS OF WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR/...
Issued at 206 AM CST Sun Nov 2 2025
Southwesterly winds will increase this morning as a low pressure
approaches western Lake Superior. Winds will increase to gales
fairly quickly, with peak gusts near 40 kts throughout the
afternoon. Tonight, winds will settle into 20-30 kts as winds
shift to the northwest after a cold front passage. Monday, winds
will increase again along the North Shore as cool air rushes
down the terrain and in the surrounding waters of the Apostle
Islands, so Gale Warnings for those zones will continue through
Monday morning before winds begin to decrease. Conditions
hazardous to small craft will continue into Monday night.
