.DISCUSSION...
Northwest winds are expected to increase to around 15 to 25mph mid
to late morning as a pressure gradient tightens across western Kansas
in wake of a surface low in Oklahoma pushing east-northeast through
the Central Plains. Winds are expected to gradually subside later in
the afternoon as the surface low pulls farther away. Light southerly
winds are then forecast early Saturday morning as a lee side trough
of low pressure develops in eastern Colorado. Winds may increase
somewhat through the afternoon while becoming more southwesterly as
the trough axis edges eastward into extreme southwest Kansas.
