The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northwestern Dawes County in the Panhandle of Nebraska...

* Until 700 PM MDT.

* At 630 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Whitney, or
  10 miles west of Chadron, moving north at 55 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Chadron, Whitney, Whitney Lake, and Chadron Municipal Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature`s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
