Scattered thunderstorms developed over the mountains of southern Wyoming during the late morning of June 17, 2025 and became more widespread while moving eastward into the southern Nebraska panhandle during the afternoon hours. Widespread strong winds and isolated large hail were reported with this system along with two tornadoes. Meanwhile, isolated thunderstorms across east central Wyoming and the northern Nebraska panhandle produced large hail and landspout tornadoes during the afternoon and early evening hours. The strongest tornado of the event occurred east of Laramie, while damage was also reported west of Kimball. All other tornadoes reported no damage and were rather brief. .Tornado #1... The tornado produced a swath of pine tree damage near Pilot Hill, including uprooted and snapped trees. The heaviest damage occurred along the Pilot Hill connector trail. Photos of damage estimate the maximum path width of nearly one-quarter mile, while radar and storm reports were also used for path length. .Tornado #2...
