...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
.DISCUSSION...
While winds will relax this weekend and not be quite as strong and
gusty, a progressive pattern will bring troughing across the area
and moist southerly to easterly flow that will cause upslope
development of shower activity and keep the area moist. The most
likely timeframe for shower activity will be Saturday evening into
the nighttime hours, and then much more likely on Sunday with a
stronger plume of moisture and the passage of a stronger trough.
While some activity may mix as snow early on Saturday due to cold
morning temperatures, this should quickly become rain if it does
occur as temperatures will several degrees above freezing and
rising. Activity on Sunday may include some thunder as well,
though strong thunderstorms are currently not anticipated.
