Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
Issued by National Weather Service Riverton WY
124 PM MDT Tue May 13 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Critical fire weather conditions will continue this afternoon
across the Interstate 80 corridor in southeast Wyoming. Relative
humidity values below 15 percent are currently being observed with
wind gusts over 25 MPH. Gusty winds will continue into the
evening hours as a front moves across the area, however relative
humidity values will begin to increase behind the front.
Precipitation chances will be possible with the frontal passage,
however, coverage will be spotty at best. Despite cooler
temperatures behind the front, models still advertise critical
relative humidity Wednesday afternoon in the southern Nebraska
panhandle. Wind gusts will be at or just below 25 MPH, however
precipitation chances are possible, especially headed into the
evening hours. For the later half of the week, relative humidity
will likely stay above critical thresholds thanks to cooler
temperatures, more cloud cover, and minor precipitation chances.
