RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM MDT
THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RH FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES
417, 418, 419, 420, 421, 422, 423, 427, 432, 433, 434, 435, AND
436...
...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM MDT THIS MORNING THROUGH
6PM THIS EVENING FOR ZONE 427...
.DISCUSSION...
Elevated winds between 30 to 50 mph have been seen in the zones west of
the I-25 corridor with Red Flag conditions in zone 418 near I-25. Despite
satellite confirming the dry airmass moving over our forecast area RH
values have remained right around 20 percent or higher in all other areas.
A cold airmass will be following the upper level low in Montana dropping
the high temperatures into the 60`s and 70`s keeping RH values out of
Red Flag or Elevated fire weather conditions being between 30-35 percent in
the afternoons with recovery in the 70`s and 80`s. Multiple waves will be
pushing through the intermountain west giving almost daily precipitation
chances through the weekend. However, these light showers may not be strong
enough to produce a wetting rain so the CWR is about 5 percent or less in
each zone.
