Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
516 AM EST Wed Dec 10 2025

A potent surface low and upper level disturbance moving across
the Lower Great Lakes today will bring a round of winter weather
to the Keystone state.

Several periods of snow of varying intensity will occur across
the Northern Mountains of Pennsylvania through today. The snow is
expected to mix with and change to rain across the Southern Ridge
and Valley Region and Lower Susquehanna Valley during the late
morning and afternoon today.

Snow accumulations north of interstate 80 will range anywhere
from 2 to 6 inches, while locations south of interstate 80
generally see a light coating with up to 2 inches falling across
the Laurel Highlands.

In the wake of this steady wintry/mixed precipitation, a 24 to 30
hour period of upslope and lake effect snow showers, some heavy
at times, is possible later tonight through Thursday across
portions of Northern and Western Pennsylvania. Winter weather
advisories are in effect today into Thursday for portions of
Northern and Western Pennsylvania. Some of the long, narrow
bands of lake effect snow will reach the Lower and Mid
Susquehanna Valley on Thursday. Gusty winds will prevail as well,
with peak gusts of 40 to 45 mph from the west or northwest
expected on Thursday.

High temperatures today will range from the mid to upper 30s
across much of northern and western Pennsylvania to the lower 40s
across the southern part of the Keystone state. Lows tonight
will vary from the teens across the north and west, to the mid
20s across the southeast.
