Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
348 AM EDT Sat Aug 23 2025

An area of high pressure, residing over the Mid Atlantic and
Southern New England Coastal Waters this morning, will bring one
more pleasant, and generally dry late Summer day before a
significant change in the weather pattern arrives Sunday afternoon
and evening as a result of a strong cold frontal passage.

This front will be preceded and accompanied by a few rounds of
showers and potentially a brief, gusty thunderstorm Sunday
afternoon and early Sunday evening.

High temperatures today will be in the upper 70s to low 80s and
cool by a few degrees for Sunday`s highs, prior to the arrival of
the cold front and showers.

Much cooler air pushing into the region at the surface and aloft
for the last week of August will be accompanied by a brisk west
to northwest wind, variable amounts of clouds and the first bout
of lake effect rain showers, typical of the Autumn season across
the Northwest Mountains of the state.
