Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
433 AM EDT Sun Aug 17 2025

Very warm and humid conditions to close out the weekend in
Pennsylvania. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will
move southeastward across Lake Erie early this morning and
traverse the remainder of the Commonwealth through the afternoon
and evening. A few storms may produce strong to locally damaging
wind gusts over the southeastern portion of the Keystone state.

High temperatures will range from the low 80s in the northern and
western mountains to the low 90s across the south central valleys
and southeastern piedmont. Today will be the warmest day out of
the next 7, and could be the last surge of late summer heat prior
to the end of the month.

Showers and storms will exit the Delaware Valley early tonight. A
northerly breeze will bring cooler and less humid air into the
northern tier of Pennsylvania overnight with low temperatures
around 50 degrees early Monday morning. This will mark the start
of a cooling trend in Pennsylvania.

Temperatures will be noticeably cooler through the middle of the
week with the best chance of showers and thunderstorms on
Wednesday. After today, any rainfall may ultimately be hard to
come by even into the second half of the week as Hurricane Erin
moves away from the East Coast.
