Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
430 AM EDT Thu Apr 3 2025

A cold front approaching from the Ohio Valley spread showers and
thunderstorms into western Pennsylvania early this morning. The
storms were weakening as they approached the Alleghenies, but
locally gusty winds and brief heavy rain will accompany this area
of showers along the cold front as it pushes through western and
into central Pennsylvania this morning. Temps early this morning
will range from the lower 60s in the western portion of the state
near the PA/WV boarder, to the low 40s in the Poconos and NE.

Additional showers and thunderstorms are possible later today
as the frontal zone sags towards northern Maryland. A few storms
may be strong over southern and southeastern Pennsylvania in the
mid to late afternoon hours, with strong wind gusts the main
threat. Showers along the front will persist over southern areas
into Friday morning before drier air overspreads the rest of
Pennsylvania.

While Friday will be mainly dry during the daytime, unsettled
conditions will persist from Friday night through the remainder
of the upcoming weekend, with periods of showers and thunderstorms
expected along a meandering frontal system. Although there will
be breaks in the wet weather during this stretch, there is at
least a chance of some rain each day.
