Abundant sunshine, mixed with some flat cumulus and high, thin cirrus clouds will kick off the shortened school and work week Tuesday, with a small uptick in temperature and humidity. Low temperatures around sunrise Tuesday will be between 45 and 50 degrees across the Northern Tier counties of PA and in the low to mid 50s in most other locations. Highs Tuesday afternoon will vary from the mid and upper 50s across the higher terrain of the North and West to the low 80s in much of the Central and Southern Valleys. Heat and humidity will build during the middle of the week, with highs expected to reach the mid 80s by Wednesday across much of Pennsylvania. Our next weather system arrives late Wednesday, bringing gusty winds, showers, and perhaps a few thunderstorms through Thursday. $$ Lambert
