Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
551 AM EDT Fri Aug 22 2025

A large area of high pressure situated between departing
Hurricane Erin, several hundred miles southeast of Cape Cod,
and a cold front over the Upper Midwest, will bring abundant
sunshine, comfortable humidity and near to slightly above normal
high temperatures for late August.

Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 70s across the higher
terrain of the North and West and in the low 80s throughout the
valleys of Central and Southern Pennsylvania.

Clear skies, light wind and cool temperatures tonight will bring
another round of late night and early morning fog in the valleys
of Central and Northern PA.

A slight increase in high temperatures and moisture on Saturday
will mean more coverage of fair weather cumulus clouds for the
late morning and afternoon hours.

A round of showers and potentially strong thunderstorms will
precede and accompany the passage of a cold front on Sunday. A
substantial cool down with colder than normal temperatures is
expected next week with the chilliest temperatures highlighted by
highs in the 60s coming Wednesday and Thursday.
