Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Pennsylvania
National Weather Service State College, PA
303 PM EDT Thu Jun 5 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A weak cold front drifting slowly to the Southeast across the
Northwest Mountains of PA will spark numerous showers and scattered
thunderstorms late this afternoon into this evening, a few of which
could produce localized, damaging microburst wind gusts.

Locally heavy rainfall of over one inch is also possible, mainly in
locations that receive 2 or more thunderstorms.

Coverage of rain showers will decrease during the late evening
through the overnight hours.

Another period of locally heavy showers and scattered thunderstorms
are expected Friday afternoon with the focus shifting a bit farther
to the southeast into the Allegheny Plateau and Ridge and Valley
region.
