Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Pennsylvania
National Weather Service State College, PA
325 PM EDT Sun Jul 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure prevails today with a southerly breeze occasionally
gusting to 20mph. A narrow plume of dry air aloft could mix down
and drop relative humidity values into the upper 30s this
afternoon, but most locations should bottom out in the 40s to low
50s.

A cold front will approach northwestern PA Monday afternoon and
evening with an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms,
while the moisture from greatly weakened Tropical Depression
Chantal moves into Southeastern PA creating a second notable area
of showers and thunderstorms.

The cold front will slow its eastward movement across the state
Monday night and Tuesday leading to showers and afternoon
Thunderstorms becoming focused primarily over the southeastern
half of Pennsylvania.
