.DISCUSSION...
A ridge of high pressure extending from the Hudson River Valley
to the Carolina Coast will help to create a moderately gusty south
to southwest flow at the surface today into Saturday. Gusts will
climb into the upper teens and 20s areawide.
Minimum afternoon RH values (in the upper 20s to low 40s)
today won`t be nearly as low as those on Thursday thanks
to dewpoints rising a little, but wind and RH will approach
critical levels this afternoon. Fortunately, fuels are moist
enough to preclude any significant risk of wildfire spread.
Dewpoints rise tonight and Saturday. A cold front will bring
some showers and thunderstorms to northwest PA on Saturday. Sunday
will be cooler and generally dry with variable amounts of mainly
mid level clouds and winds out of the northwest at 5 to 15 mph. RH
values could dip below 30% again Sunday afternoon.
