Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Pennsylvania
National Weather Service State College, PA
430 AM EDT Tue Aug 11 2026

.DISCUSSION...
A slow moving frontal boundary will sag south across the
Commonwealth today and tonight, before stalling out across West
Virginia and Virginia for the second half of this week.

A few more rounds of showers and thunderstorms will occur today,
and again late tonight and early Wednesday. Locally heavy rain
over one inch is possible, but most areas will see several tenths
of an inch of rain over the upcoming 24 hours.

Although scattered showers or a brief thunderstorm is still
possible Wednesday night and Thursday to the north of the front,
much of the time will be dry and will be followed by slightly
cooler temperatures and most notably, less humid air for Friday
and Saturday.
