Issued at 621 AM CDT Mon Sep 7 2026 - Moderate to occasionally High risk of heat-related impacts through this week, peak afternoon heat indices 105-110 - Low chances (15-30%) for seabreeze-driven showers and storms each afternoon and evening through Friday. Slightly greater chances and coverage Wednesday. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 205 AM CDT Mon Sep 7 2026 Mid-level ridging will build into South Texas today as the center flattens out across the southern half of the CONUS early this week. Moisture will remain above normal (75th percentile), around 2.0" PWAT values. We`ll maintain low shower and thunderstorm chances along the seabreeze over the inland Coastal Plains and Brush Country today and Tuesday with the enhanced moisture in place. Coverage and rain chances increase a tad midweek Wednesday and Thursday as weak mid-level disturbances move westward across the Gulf towards the Texas Coast. However, rain chances lower again towards the end of the week as another mid-level ridge moves from the Desert Southwest into Texas, increasing the heat risk. && .AVIATION... VFR conditions then expected through the rest of this TAF period, accompanied by southeasterly light winds with gusts up to 20-25KT.
