.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 106 PM CDT Tue Aug 19 2025

The Weather Prediction Center (WPC) has issued a Marginal Risk for
Excessive rainfall across much of South Texas for Today and
Thursday, that may result in minor flash-flooding of low lying/poor
drainage areas. Expected rainfall totals will likely be up to 1.25"
through the week with some isolated higher amounts possible.

The overall synoptic pattern this week will remain largely
unchanged with a pretty stout high pressure anchored over the Four
Corners region. Several rounds of PVA from a low pressure system
moving across southwestern Canada will round the periphery of this
high, moving across our region from the northeast through early
next week. This will result in daily medium to high chances
(generally ranging from 45-70%) for showers/thunderstorms across
much of the region in response to the aforementioned disturbances.
This weekend, low to moderate rain chances (30-45%) followed by
lower chances early next week.

Triple digit temperatures will trend down the remainder of the
week, dropping below 100 degrees by this weekend. Followed by a
slight warm-up early next week as we slowly dry out. Accompanied
by heat indices ranging from around 105-110 degrees each day. Overnight
lows will be in the mid-70s.

(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 611 PM CDT Tue Aug 19 2025

Mainly VFR conditions expected through this forecast period.
Convection has exited the area this evening and chances for
additional convection are small (though not nil). Have less than
20% chance tonight and through the day tomorrow. This chance is
too small to have any precision to include in TAF at this time.
Mainly light winds will persist through the period. Have included
a tempo group for vis restrictions at ALI and VCT primarily due to
rainfall that occurred today and the potential for that to cause
some shallow fog toward morning.

.MARINE...
Issued at 106 PM CDT Tue Aug 19 2025

A light to gentle breeze (BF 2-3) is expected to prevail this week.
Rain chances return today with a medium to high chance (40-75%)
today then a more moderate (50-60%) chance for most afternoons
through the end of the week, followed by low to moderate chances
early next week.
