.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 120 PM CDT Sun Aug 9 2026

Isolated showers continue to move onshore this afternoon as moisture
and some mid-level energy move toward the coast. Expect the coverage
will increase as the seabreeze moves inland. It is still unclear how
far inland showers and thunderstorms will make it this afternoon and
Monday. By Tuesday, high pressure will rebuild over the area,
settling in and limiting rain chances through the rest of the week.

Temperatures remain generally around seasonal averages, but will
range from a degree or two below normal Sunday to a few degrees
above normal by late in the work week. Heat index values increase
for the latter half of the period and heat advisories may become
necessary by mid-week.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 622 PM CDT Sun Aug 9 2026

A few showers remain in the area around the LRD terminal and east
of COT. This convection will wane over the next couple of hours
with dry and mainly VFR conditions expected for all sites
overnight. Showers and storms will redevelop along the coast
toward morning. Have mentions of showers for both VCT and CRP at
this time. May need to add TS mention later.

.MARINE...
Issued at 120 PM CDT Sun Aug 9 2026

Light to moderate onshore breezes Sunday and Monday will increase to
a more moderate breeze, with periods of fresh breezes, Tuesday
through the end of the week. A low to medium (20-50%) chance of
showers and thunderstorms will continue Sunday and Monday with
mainly dry conditions thereafter.
