.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1224 PM CDT Wed Sep 10 2025

Mid to upper level ridging is expected to remain over Texas
through the end of the week and will help limit rain development
over much of the local area. That being said, we might see some
disturbances and vort maxes aloft this afternoon into Friday,
along with small pulses of warm moist air moving in from the Gulf.
Thus, there is a chance for showers and thunderstorms to develop
along the Coastal Bend and further inland over the southern and
southwestern portions of South Central Texas through Friday.
Chance for rain will decrease over the weekend as drier air moves
in, although some coastal locations could see passing showers from
time to time. There might be another pulse of warm moisture air
from the Gulf pushing in early next week and could lead to a
slight increase in showers and thunderstorms.

With respect to temperatures, the highs will mainly be in the mid
to upper 90s over the inland portions and in the lower to mid 90s
over the coastal locations for the next several days. This is
roughly 2 to 6 degrees above normal. Heat indices will remain in
the upper 90s to lower 100s.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 610 PM CDT Wed Sep 10 2025

Mostly VFR conditions will prevail through the TAF cycle, with the
exception of brief periods of MVFR levels Thursday morning at
COT/LRD/VCT sites. A few showers currently in the vicinity of LRD
are expected to diminish over the next few hours, but additional
showers/storms could develop early Thursday over the marine zones
and drift inland. However, confidence on timing and impacted
locations is low, therefore have maintained this out of the TAFs
for now. Light and variable winds overnight will increase to
around 10-12 knots and shift east to southeastward on Thursday.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1224 PM CDT Wed Sep 10 2025

Light to occasionally moderate east-southeast winds are expected
to persist across the Gulf waters for the next several days. There
is a medium to high (40-60%) chance for showers and thunderstorms
through Friday. As we head into the weekend, rain chances will
drop to 20-30% in response to drier air moving into the region.
Rain chances could increase again early next week.
