.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1229 AM CDT Sat Jul 26 2025

Disorganized showers associated with the tropical disturbance we
have been messaging will continue to move ashore today. Mid-level
vorticity will be mostly to the west by midday, then slowly trek to
the northwest through Sunday. This, combined with lingering moisture
(PWAT values around 2"), will lead to a low to medium chances for
showers through Sunday. Moisture will decrease at the beginning of
the upcoming week putting an end to our rain chances.

Temperatures will rebound by the middle of the week, with highs
soaring back into the low 90s along the coast to around 105 over the
Rio Grande Plains. Heat index values of 105 to 109 will result in a
moderate to major heat risk for late this week.

Some MVFR ceilings developed during the past couple of hours over
ALI, though this is expected to dissipate by midmorning. VFR
conditions prevail through the cycle though periods of MVFR
conditions will remain possible through the day. This will be due
to scattered showers and storms expected across all terminals
through this evening. Winds are expected to be around 10 to 15
knots with gusts up to 25 knots. Higher gusts will be possible
with stronger storms.
