...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST FRIDAY...
...LOW WATER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, west winds 30 to 40 knots with
  gusts up to 50 knots and waves 6 to 9 feet. For the Low Water
  Advisory, abnormally low water levels.

* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay to
  Vermilion OH, and the open waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay
  to Vermilion OH.

* WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Below normal
  water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...West to southwest gales have resulted in
  low water levels in the western basin of Lake Erie. As of 930 PM
  EST, the water level at Toledo was 43.3 inches below low water
  datum, which is more than 35 inches below the critical mark for
  safe navigation. Water levels will likely continue to drop
  through tonight before beginning to slowly rise during the day
  Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

Mariners should navigate shallow waters with extreme caution due
to below normal water levels.

  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
