This afternoon into the evening, lake effect bands will push south across the snowbelt areas, potentially resulting in a quick accumulation with rapidly changing visibilities. Initial snowfall may struggle to accumulate, however heavy rates of up to 1 inch per hour may be able to overcome this. Nearest the lakeshore, most precipitation should remain as rain or a rain/snow mix due to locally warmer temperatures. Late this afternoon into the evening hours, a heavy band of lake effect is expected to push inland with rates of 1 inch per hour possible. This will result in a period of diminished visibilities and potential snow accumulation on untreated surfaces. The highest snowfall totals are expected to be in eastern Cuyahoga and Geauga with 2 to 4 inches possible. Areas outside of this can expected 1 to 3 inches. In addition, the timing of this snowfall will impact the evening commute.
