The combination of temperatures in the 90s combined with increasing humidity associated with the inland moving sea breeze will briefly push heat indices into the 114 to 118 range through 7 PM. This will be make for dangerous conditions, especially if working outside. Some communities that will be impacted include Awendaw, Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, Downtown Charleston, West Ashley, James Island, Johns Island, Ravenel, Adams Run, Bennetts Point and Jacksonboro. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. && $$
