...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
  following county, Charleston.

* WHEN...Until 315 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will
  take several hours for all the water from these storms to work
  through local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1206 PM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
    the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or
    expected to begin shortly. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
    the warned area. Flooding may begin to occur along Church
    Creek in West Ashley as river levels approach minor flood
    stage, areas near the river should remain aware of river
    levels.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    North Charleston, West Ashley, Downtown Charleston, James
    Island, Johns Island, Maybank Bridge, Charles Towne Landing,
    James Island County Park and Charleston Naval Complex.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
