806 WGUS82 KCHS 260317 FLSCHS Flood Advisory National Weather Service Charleston SC 1117 PM EDT Wed Jun 25 2025 SCC029-035-260400- /O.NEW.KCHS.FA.Y.0029.250626T0317Z-250626T0400Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Colleton SC-Dorchester SC- 1117 PM EDT Wed Jun 25 2025 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the following counties, Colleton and Dorchester. * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1114 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms with torrential rain extending from Givhans southwest to Walterboro to just east of Islandton. As much as 1 to 2.5 inches of rain has fallen in this area this evening. An additional 1 to 2 inches could fall through midnight, resulting in minor flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas. - River levels along Ireland Creek in Walterboro are slowly rising. Although levels are not expected to reach flood stage at this time, people near the creek should continue to monitor water levels for the next few hours. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Walterboro, Givhans Ferry State Park, Cottageville, Round O, Givhans, Lowcountry Regional Airport, Thayer, Hiotts, Colleton Medical Center and Sidney. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
