...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
  following counties, Beaufort, Charleston, Colleton and Jasper.

* WHEN...Until 900 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 749 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated numerous showers and
    thunderstorms with torrential rainfall extending from Yonges
    Island and Edisto Island west to near Gillisonville and
    Okatie. As much as 1 to 3 inches of rain have fallen in these
    areas since early this evening with the highest amounts
    occurring across Beaufort County. An additional 1 to 2 inches
    can be expected through 9 PM. There is a risk for minor
    flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Beaufort, Port Royal, Ridgeland, Edisto Beach, Johns Island,
    Clarendon, Jasper, Hollywood, Ravenel and Seabrook Island.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
