The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina...

* Until 1215 AM EDT.

* At 1042 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has
  fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 2 inches in 1 hour.
  Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
  warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  North Charleston, Downtown Charleston, Daniel Island, West Ashley,
  Charleston Naval Complex, The Citadel, Columbus Street Terminal,
  Medical University Of South Carolina, Marion Square and Cooper
  River Marina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
