.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGE 1: Hot and humid conditions will persist along
portions of our coast the rest of today. A Heat Advisory is in
effect for McIntosh County.

Along our southeast Georgia coast, temperatures are in the mid
to upper 90s, while dewpoints are in the mid to upper 70s. These
locations are experiencing heat index values around 105 degrees.
The highest values (up to 110 degrees) are across McIntosh
County, which is where we have a Heat Advisory in effect until
this evening.

KEY MESSAGE 2: Isolated to scattered thunderstorms may develop
along our southeast Georgia coast this afternoon. A couple of
strong to marginally severe storms will be possible into the
evening hours, especially near the Altamaha River.

A stationary front is located in the vicinity of the Altamaha
River this afternoon. North of the front, dewpoints have fallen
into the low to mid 60s. South of the front, they are generally
in the 70s, along with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. SPC
Mesoscale Analysis in this area generally has MLCAPEs in the
500-1,000 J/kg range, DCAPEs around 1,000 J/kg, and effective
bulk shear of 25-30 kt. But the CAMs aren`t showing much
convection and this is confirmed by satellite imagery, which
hasn`t shown much vertical cumulus development. So there will be
a short window this afternoon where there could be isolated
scattered strong to marginally severe storms (with the main
threat being damaging wind gusts) along the sea breeze. Once
sunset arrives, any storms will quickly dissipate.

.AVIATION /00Z FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
00Z TAFs: VFR conditions will prevail throughout the forecast
with light and variable winds. Winds will gradually increase
tomorrow afternoon out of the south as a seabreeze slowly moves
inland reaching JZI by 15z and SAV/CHS by around 18 to 19Z.
Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible
between 18 to 21Z at SAV. Temporary restrictions in flight
conditions could be possible as far north as CHS; however,
confidence in coverage is too low to support a mention in the
TAF.

Extended Aviation Outlook: The probabilities for periodic
flight restrictions due to showers and thunderstorms will
gradually increase Friday through early next week.

&&

.MARINE...
A stationary front will linger across our southeast South
Carolina and southeast Georgia waters through the rest of this
week, bringing fairly light winds and low seas. A stronger
front is expected to move through early next week, causing
winds and seas to increase. Wind gusts could approach 25 kts
across some of our waters on Sunday, along with 5-6 ft seas.
Therefore, Small Craft Advisories may be needed. Conditions
should gradually improve on Monday.
