Total snow accumulations generally between 5 and 10 inches. Locally greater totals possible in an area from Piscataquis county to southeast Aroostook county. * WHERE...Portions of Central Highlands, Far Eastern, Far Northern, North Woods, and Penobscot Valley Maine * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Periods of locally heavy snowfall may lead to rapid snow accumulations. The weight of heavy, wet snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult due to heavy snow creating low visibility, and wet roads freezing under new snow. These hazardous conditions will impact travel Thursday evening through Friday morning.
