...An area of heavy snow showers will affect southeastern Aroostook
and north central Penobscot Counties...

At 1019 AM EST...An area of heavy snow showers was along a line
extending from near Shin Pond to near Smyrna Mills to near Cary
Plantation...and moving south at 20 MPH.

Locations impacted include...
Patten, Hodgdon, Sherman, Island Falls, Amity, Mount Chase,
Haynesville, Sherman Station, Cary Plantation, Shin Pond, Katahdin
Woods and Waters National Monument, Linneus, Oakfield, Stacyville,
Merrill, Crystal, Weston, Cary, Dyer Brook, and Orient.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 95 between mile markers 265 and 286.
 US Highway 1 between Orient and Hodgdon.
 State Highway 11 between Sherman Station and Patten.

  * Winds in excess of 25 mph are possible with this area of heavy
  snow showers.

  * Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter mile in
  this area of heavy snow showers.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.
