...Heat in Northern Maine on October 6th...

Several high temperature records were broken in Northern Maine on
October 6th.

In Caribou, the high temperature record for October
was 83 degrees Fahrenheit. The previous record was October 6th
2011, at 82 degrees. The daily record for October 6th was also
broken at Caribou, with the previous record high being 74 degrees
in 1946. Caribou records date back to 1939.

In Houlton, the high temperature record for October was also
broken on Monday, at 84 degrees. The previous record was 82
degrees on October 9th, 2011 and October 9th, 1970. This was also
the daily high record for Houlton, with the previous record for
October 6th being 80 degrees in 1946.

In Millinocket, the high temperature record for October was
broken on Monday at 85 degrees. The previous record was 83 degrees
in 1947. This was also the daily record for October 6th, with the
last record value being 82 in 1946. Millinocket data dates back
to 1903.

In Bangor, a daily max temperature record was broken, as
they reached 84 degrees. The previous record was 76 degrees in
1974. This was the 3rd hottest recorded October temperature on
record, tied with three other days (2011, 1979, and 1968).
October 16th (85) and 17th (84), 1968 were the first and second
hottest October days on record, respectively. Bangor records date
back to 1925.
