...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of central Newberry and
northwestern Saluda Counties through 815 PM EDT...

At 748 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Newberry, moving southwest at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Newberry, Saluda, Whitmire, Newberry County Airport, Newberry
College, Silverstreet, Newberry County Detention Center, US-
176 and SC-
34 Crossroads, Belfast Wildlife Management Area, Chappells, Chappells
Fire Station, Scurry Airport, Bush River Fire Station, Hickory Grove,
Vaughnville, Enoree Ranger District Office, and Kinards.

This includes Interstate 26 between mile markers 62 and 78.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
