Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
1149 AM EDT Wed Aug 20 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Dry weather is expected to come to an end on Thursday as
Hurricane Erin pulls away in the Atlantic. Isolated showers and
storms are expected by Thursday evening, with coverage increasing
on Friday and Saturday primarily across the central/southern
Midlands and CSRA. By next week, a strong cold front is forecast
to approach on Monday/Tuesday, pushing unseasonably dry air into
the area along with a wind shift.

Fog potential tonight: Patchy ground fog is expected in fog prone
locations.
