Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
142 AM EDT Sun Jul 13 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Areas of low clouds and patchy fog are expected this morning,
giving way to scattered cumulus by midday. Hot and humid weather
is expected today and on Monday, with heat index values in excess
of 100 degrees, especially on Monday. Rainfall chances will be
lower than previous days but isolated to scattered showers and
thunderstorms should develop, especially across the eastern
Midlands where the sea breeze could trigger convection. Lower
temperatures and higher rain chances are expected during the mid-
week period as weak upper ridging currently in place breaks down.

Fog Potential: Patchy and focused near bodies of water.
