Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
138 AM EDT Sun Aug 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...
The day begins with areas of low clouds and patchy fog,
especially near bodies of water. Otherwise, a hot and mainly dry
day is expected with only a low risk for a shower or thunderstorm,
focused across the southern Midlands and CSRA. Monday will be hot
and humid with additional showers and thunderstorms possible,
this time focused in the northern Midlands and Pee Dee. Major
Hurricane Erin will pass well to our east during the mid-week
period with no impacts on the forecast area besides possibly
lowering rain chances on Wednesday.

Fog potential tonight: Patchy and focused near bodies of water.
