011 FNUS52 KCAE 291740 FWFCAE Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina and East Central Georgia National Weather Service Columbia SC 140 PM EDT Sun Jun 29 2025 .DISCUSSION... Isolated storms are starting to fire across the region early this afternoon and are expected to increase in coverage during the late afternoon and into this evening before dissipating tonight. Monday sees much of the same as today with another afternoon with scattered showers/storms that continue into the evening. The next change in the summertime pattern looks to come Tuesday through Wednesday mainly, possibly into Thursday. This is due to a cold front that will approach the area from the northwest Tuesday leading to more widespread shower/storms through Wednesday with periods of moderate to heavy rain possible. Southwesterly winds are expected ahead of the front before shifting toward the northeast and finally east behind the front. Behind the front, typical summertime afternoon showers/storms are expected for the late week and into the weekend. Fog Potential Tonight: Low chances for fog overnight.
