Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
211 AM EDT Tue Aug 19 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Scattered showers and thunderstorms should be focused along and
south of the I-20 corridor today as a front sags into the
forecast area. Drier and slightly cooler weather is then expected
on Wednesday and Thursday. Winds will pick up from the northeast
on Wednesday with some gusts to 15 to 20 mph as high pressure
ridges down into the area. By Friday and Saturday, below normal
temperatures and higher chances of rain return to the forecast
area. Overall, a generally low impact period for fire weather
concerns.

Fog potential tonight: Patchy ground fog is expected in fog prone
locations.
