Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
1219 PM EDT Thu Aug 21 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Cool and wet weather expected over the next couple of days, with
particularly heavy rainfall expected across the southern half of
the area. This will keep fire weather impact free over the next
couple of days. As we get into Sunday and Monday, a more robust
cold front approaches from the northwest. A wind shift will
accompany this on Monday with unseasonably dry air and cooler air
pushing into the area by the middle of next week.

Fog potential tonight: Patchy ground fog is possible in fog prone
locations.
