Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
1246 AM EST Tue Nov 25 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Rain chances increase today ahead of a strong cold front,
starting from NW to SE this afternoon but the main chances
move in this evening and into Wednesday morning. Overall, amounts
less than 0.50" are expected from this. Outside of rain chances, southerly
winds may gust toward 20 mph this afternoon before increasing and
turning more southwesterly Wednesday where gusts up to 25 mph are
expected much of the day. Rain chances are expected to diminish
Wednesday afternoon as the front approaches, likely clearing
the area by Wednesday night and turning winds out of the west
and eventually northwest. Extremely dry air should push in behind
this front, bringing minimum RH values below 30% Thursday then
between 20-25% Friday and Saturday, possibly a bit lower. Moisture
is then expected to increase to end the weekend and into
early next week along with possible rain chances.

Fog potential tonight: Patchy fog is possible tonight.
