Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
141 AM EDT Fri Aug 22 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Cool and wet weather expected today and Saturday, with
heavy rainfall expected across the southern half of the area.
This will keep the are free from fire weather impacts over the
next couple of days. As we get into Sunday and Monday, a more
robust cold front approaches from the northwest. Behind this
front, a noticeable wind shift is expected on Monday with
unseasonably dry air and cooler air pushing into the area by the
middle of next week.

Fog potential tonight: Patchy ground fog is possible in fog prone
locations.
