...The National Weather Service in Columbia SC has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in South Carolina...

  Saluda River At Saluda River at Chappells affecting Greenwood,
  Saluda and Newberry Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don`t drown.

Residents and those with interests near the river should monitor
rising water levels and take action if necessary.

The next statement will be issued this afternoon at 130 PM EST.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM EARLY THIS MORNING TO EARLY MONDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Saluda River at Saluda River at Chappells.

* WHEN...From early this morning to early Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Lowlands around and downstream from
  Chappells become flooded. Cattle grazing river bottomland should
  be moved to higher ground.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 12:15 AM EST Saturday the stage was 13.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to crest near 14.5 feet
    Saturday afternoon, then remain above flood stage through
    early Monday morning.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
