The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Edgefield County in central South Carolina...
  Southeastern McCormick County in central South Carolina...

* Until 330 PM EDT.

* At 126 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  North Augusta, Edgefield, Johnston, Edgefield County Airport,
  Clarks Hill Recreation Area, Hamilton Branch State Park, J. Strom
  Thurmond Dam, Trenton, Parksville, Plum Branch, Lick Fork
  Campground, Cleora, Colliers, Edgefield Federal Correction
  Institution, Mt Vintage, Pleasant Lane, Strom Thurmond High
  School, Northside Fire Station Main, Harmony and Forks Campground.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don`t drown.
