The National Weather Service in Columbia has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Lancaster County in central South Carolina...

* Until 900 PM EDT.

* At 749 PM EDT, Emergency management reported at least one roadway,
  Oakridge Rd, is completely impassable due to flooding. Between 3
  and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue,
  but no additional significant rainfall is expected. Flash flooding
  is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported at least one roadway,
           Oakridge Rd, is completely impassable due to flooding.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Springdale, Elgin, Heath Springs, McDonald Green Elementary
  School, Faith Christian School, Pleasant Hill, Kirk Air Base, Bell
  Town Fire Station and Bear Creek Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don`t drown.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
