A strong Summer ridge builds over the area for the next few days bringing dry and hot conditions. Temperatures in the triple digits and RH values in the teens will be common today and Wednesday. Winds don`t look too strong today or Wednesday, but there will be low level jet activity over the eastern half of the district tonight. This will keep any ongoing fires active overnight as well as produce a brief period of gusty winds (20 to 30 mph) as overnight inversion mixes out late Wednesday morning. A weak dry cold front moves into the area Wednesday afternoon shifting winds to the north. Cooler and mainly dry conditions expected for the end of the week with highs back into the 70s and 80s.
