Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to move into the region mid day today. Main concerns are gusty winds and heavy rain. Breezy southeast winds are expected this afternoon and evening across southeast MT and northwest SD, gusting 20-30 mph. Additional scattered showers and a few stronger storms are expected Friday afternoon and evening, with any stronger storms most likely for southeast MT with similar threats to today. Friday evening through Sunday, a weather system is expected to bring appreciable precipitation to the region. Much of the area has about a 50-80% chance for at least an inch of rain during this time. Snow levels don`t decrease much, but a few inches at the highest peaks (above 11 kft) is likely.
